Goodwill's career as a narrative writer/director launched with his debut feature film Patch Town. Patch Town had its International Premiere at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in January 2014 (New Vision New Voices Category) European Premiere at Moscow International, and Asian Premieres at Shanghai International (Panorama) and Fantasia Film Fest in Montreal. Patch Town recently won the Best Feature Award at the Canadian Film Festival in Toronto. US distribution rights to Patch Town were sold in Cannes to Kino Lorber with an eye towards the film releasing late 2014, early 2015. Goodwill's most recent project, The Spirit Game, has been picked up for development by Eone Television. Goodwill began his narrative career with his short film, Patch Town (2011). Patch Town world premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and had its US Premiere at the Palm Springs International ShortFest. Patch Town won the Director's Guild Award for Best Short, and "Best in Show" at Best Shorts Festival in Los Angeles. Patch Town was expanded into a feature film in 2013. Craig Goodwill began his film career as a producer/director's assistant on films such as Good Will Hunting, 54, Driven, Superstar, Storm of the Century, Loser, among many others. Subsequently, Goodwill traveled the world from Haiti to India directing and producing documentaries for National Geographic, CBC, Alliance Atlantis, during which time he completed a feature documentary called Godless, documenting the rise of Atheism through modern times. After years in a loving home, Jon, a toy, was forgotten, deserted and ultimately betrayed by his adoptive mother. He returns to live a sad life as a worker on the line.
